Apparently, I do a lot of thought-dumping on Reddit.

I don't know if anyone else does this, but one of the things I do upon occasion is I will go to a website where I have made a lot of comments and just read through all of the things that I've said, partially out of nostalgia, but also because I think I do say some nifty things, particularly the things that I tend to post on Reddit.  Having discovered the site and it's bazillions of sub-communities about two years ago, I have become quite the citizen of the place and have participated in a handful of deep discussions.

Anyways, it was while I was perusing my comment archives and seeing the massive walls of text that I post with frequent regularity, that it dawned on me that these mini-essays could easily become posts on this blog.  I mean, I'm basically doing the same thing there that I would want to do here.  Why do twice the work, especially when I seem to have given a considerable amount of care to the responses I make?

Of course, that doesn't mean I'm just going to copy-paste my comments in here; they will need to be re-edited for sake of context as well as errors, so it doesn't mean I'm going to be completely lazy.  I'm also not going to abandon any of the other article ideas I have for this place, so this blog won't be just a bunch of re-reddits, if you will.  I just think that doing this will help me recognize the kinds of things I've been thinking about and discussing, which is what this blog is about.

(Just as a side note: for those of you who may not know what Reddit is, I would go into detail explaining the site to you, but fortunately, I don't have to.  I will simply recommend that you click on this link to go watch a video on YouTube about Reddit, made by CGP Grey, who makes great educational videos that are totally worth your time!)

Finally, I do apologize for not keeping on this blog.  I really do have the best of intentions, but as life does, things got busy.  However, that really isn't that good of an excuse, as those who are truly dedicated to their craft and ideas would find the time to do it, regardless of their circumstances.  While maybe I shouldn't be trying to hold myself up the standards of experts, I do need to try better about updating this blog if I want it to grow and expand.

In any case, think of this as a bit of an intermission, not only explaining future content, but also helping me get back on task for this corner of the internet.  Hopefully, you won't have to wait as long for the next post.
